Beximco Pharmaceuticals Managing Director Nazmul Hasan Papon has said the 2nd batch of vaccines against coronavirus disease will arrive in Bangladesh on February 22.
Papon, who is also the president of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), came up with the disclosure after receiving Covid-19 vaccine at Kurmitola General Hospital in the capital on Monday.
“Bangladesh will get around 20/30 lakh more doses of the vaccine in the 2nd consignment,” he said.
The country received the the first consignment of 50 lakh doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine on January 25.
On Nov 5, Bangladesh signed a deal with Serum Institute of India for the procurement of 30 million doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine. Serum Institute will supply five million doses each month.
